• The tournament will  be divided into Different Grades - A, B, and C. Each draw (depending on the registrations) will have at least 16 teams competing, and the seeding of teams into the tournament draw will be determined by an initial set of round-robin matches.
  

ROUND ROBIN

• Each match of the round-robin will consist of 1 game to 15 points with no setting – first team to 15 points wins.

• Round-robin results will determine placement in the main tournament draw.

• Upon completion of the round-robin matches, teams will be seeded into their appropriate draws based on:

  • The number of wins received in the round-robin
  • Point difference
  • Overall accumulated points across all round-robin games.

• All teams will then be split into two sections depending on their grade:

  • Top half (based on round-robin performance): A1, B1, C1

  • Bottom half: A2, B2, C2

DOUBLE ELIMINATION

• Once draws are made, gameplay will commence immediately. The tournament will be run in a double-elimination format, meaning:

• There will be a Winner’s Bracket (for undefeated teams) and a Second Chance Bracket (for teams with one loss).

• The winners of both brackets will only play one game for the Finals Match

• Please note: Tournament matches will be played as best of 3 x 21-point games, with no setting for each game (hard stop at 21 points).

• This format may change during the tournament depending on timing. Teams will be notified of any adjustments on the day.All matches will follow Badminton World Federation (BWF) rules unless otherwise stated.

• The tournament draw and final schedule will be released approximately two weeks before the Games.

• As outlined in terms and conditions, the format and divisions may be merged or adjusted based on registration numbers.

• Feather shuttlecocks will be used.

• Players must bring their own rackets.

• Shared warm-up shuttles will be provided.

• Non-marking indoor shoes are required to access the courts.

• Spectators are welcome to attend and support participants.

• Information regarding transport to the Auckland Badminton Centre, 99 Gillies Avenue, Epsom, will be provided closer to the event date.

• Food and drink options will be available for purchase at the venue.
