Kickball at Rainbow Games 2026

Emerald City Kickball brings its mix of fun, community and competition to Rainbow Games 2026 across two days.

All identities and experience levels are welcome. Whether you play regularly or have never kicked a ball before, there is a place for you on the field.

DAY ONE: Saturday 31 October: Meet your team, learn the basics and give kickball a go in a relaxed, social setting.

DAY TWO: Sunday 1 November: Round-robin games across multiple divisions, leading into finals for the 2026 Rainbow Games Kickball Champions.​​​​​​​

HOW TO REGISTER:

Choose how you’re joining.

  • INDIVIDUAL OR BUDDIES: Register yourself and be teamed up. Joining with up to two buddies? Add their names in the form so you can be matched together.
  • TEAM: Register your team. One team contact completes the team registration form, then receives a player registration link to send to the rest of the team. Each player uses that link to register, provide their details and pay their own registration and sport fees.

REGISTRATION COSTS

Total cost for Kickball: $89 per player

This includes:

  • Rainbow Games Registration Fee: $69
  • Kickball Sport Fee: $20

Your Rainbow Games registration includes:

  • Ticket to the Opening Ceremony on Thursday 29 October
  • Ticket to the Closing Event on Sunday 1 November
  • Access to the arts, culture and social programme throughout the Games
  • Opportunity to compete for medals and represent your community with pride
  • Player accreditation pass
  • A contribution to the Rangatahi Legacy Initiative, supporting future generations of LGBTQI+ youth in sport

Standard registration applies from 16 April to 16 October 2026.

'PLAY' IN 3

Spread the cost of your Rainbow Games registration:

  • Payment 1: $30 when you register
  • Payment 2: $30, 14 days later
  • Final payment: Remaining balance due 3 days before registrations close

CATEGORIES

Choose from the following Kickball categories:

  • Open Team Competition: Open to everyone.
  • Women and Gender Diverse: Includes cis and trans women, trans men, non-binary people, intersex people and people with other trans identities.
  • Guardians Division: Competitive play for experienced Kickballers.

Categories may be combined at ECKB’s discretion to support a meaningful competition.

Three ways to play:

  • Solo: Use the individual registration button.
  • With buddies: Register with up to two others using the individual registration button and add their names in the form.
  • As a team: Minimum 10 players. Use the team registration button.
