Open refers to all genders and identities.
Female-identifying refers to cisgender women, transgender women and non-binary AFAB.
By combining forces, event organisers have created adynamic platform that offers participants an opportunity to traverse a carefully planned route which encompasses Auckland’s iconic landmarks.
The flat course gives participants the opportunity to race for a personal best, while less experienced runners can also take it step-by-step and walk the routes. Moreover, affiliated runners can access the wider arts, cultural and social opportunities of the Rainbow Games 2024.
After the event takes place, Waterfront Half Marathon organisers will provide the Rainbow Games with a bespoke results report for the affiliated runners to allocate winning medals for the top three finishers in each division. Read the full update here.

Participants must be 18+ by Friday 5 April 2024 to take run in affiliation with the Rainbow Games. Find out more in our terms and conditions.
The start times are: 7am for the Half Marathon, 9am for the 10k, and 9.30am for the 5k.
Participants will need to make their own way to the Half Marathon on the morning of the race. Check the official Waterfront Half Marathon event wesbite for instructions on how to get there.
